Hurive Privacy Policy
Last updated: 22 September 2026
This policy explains what data Hurive collects, where it goes, and the control you have. We keep it short and direct. Questions: support@hurive.app
What Hurive is
Hurive is a wellbeing app that tracks sleep, hydration, nutrition, movement, emotions, thought patterns, and meaningful activities using a car-dashboard metaphor. Hurive generates short, personalised comments and answers based on what you log.
What stays on your device
Almost everything you log stays on your iPhone, stored locally with Apple's SwiftData:
- Your logs (sleep, hydration, meals, workouts, emotions, thoughts, activities, supplements, fasting, notes)
- Your profile, goals, and app preferences
- Your chat history with Hurive
None of this is uploaded to us or anyone else, except as described below.
Apple Health (HealthKit)
With your permission, Hurive reads data from Apple Health (sleep, steps, heart rate, workouts, daylight, weight, height, mindful minutes). Hurive only reads; it never writes to Apple Health. Raw Health data stays on your device.
Hurive's intelligence runs on your device
Hurive's intelligence (your daily read, chat, emotion coping, thought patterns, goal suggestions, meal estimates) runs entirely on your iPhone. Your logs and your chats are analyzed on the device and never leave it.
Hurive does not use any third-party AI service. Nothing you log, write or say is sent to OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, or any other AI provider, for any purpose, ever. There is no server doing the thinking, no API key, and as of 22 September 2026 no code in the app that could reach such a service even if someone tried.
Two on-device engines are used, and neither sends anything anywhere:
- A model that ships inside the app, so nothing is downloaded and Hurive works fully offline from the moment you install it.
- On an iPhone that supports Apple Intelligence, Apple's own on-device foundation model, which is part of iOS and already on your phone. Apple states that text handled by it stays on the device.
We ask before anything leaves your device
The first time you open Hurive, before anything is sent, a screen tells you what leaves the phone, who receives it, and asks you to allow it or decline. Nothing in the list below is sent until you answer, and declining sends nothing. You can change the answer at any time in Settings, Data & Privacy.
Who receives it
Everything below goes to Hurive's own database and to no one else. That database is hosted for us by Supabase Inc., which stores it on our behalf as a processor and is contractually bound to protect it to the same standard set out in this policy. Supabase does not use it for its own purposes and we do not sell or share it with anyone.
When data leaves your device
- Feedback you send. If you submit feedback in the app, we receive your message, your device model and app/iOS version, and a short technical diagnostic log to help us fix issues. We do not receive your other logs.
- Anonymous usage analytics. The app sends anonymous events about how Hurive is used, tagged with a random per-install ID that is not linked to your name or any account, because Hurive has no accounts. This covers which screens you open and for how long, which buttons you press, when you open and close the app, the hour on your own clock, the country and language set on your phone, and whether things like Apple Health or notifications were switched on. Each event also carries your iPhone model, iOS version, memory, screen size, and whether it can run Hurive's on-device intelligence. None of that describes you. It does not include anything you write or log. You can turn this off in Settings, and turning it off also discards anything still waiting to be sent.
- Anonymous profile snapshots. The app may send an anonymous snapshot of profile fields, such as goals, tagged with the same random per-install ID. No name or contact info.
- Crash and performance reports. Apple's own MetricKit reports crashes, freezes, launch times and memory use to us. These describe the app, not you. No third-party crash service is used.
- Only if you switch it on: "Help improve Hurive". This is off unless you choose it. When on, what you ask Hurive and what it answers are sent with the day's numbers it was given. It is kept 30 days, then deleted, and is never used for anything but fixing bad answers.
Aside from the above, your logs and your chats stay on your device.
What we never do
- No user accounts: we do not collect your name, email, or sign-in details (unless you email us)
- No advertising, no ad networks
- No selling or renting your data
- No tracking you across other apps or websites
Purchases
Hurive Pro. Lifetime is a one-time purchase billed through your Apple ID. It is not a subscription: you pay once and keep access for the life of the app, with nothing to cancel. We do not see or store your payment details; Apple handles billing. Restore a previous purchase anytime from the paywall.
Crash reports
If you install via the App Store, Apple may collect anonymous crash logs and share them with us. These contain technical crash data, not your logs. Opt out in iOS Settings > Privacy & Security > Analytics & Improvements.
Your control
- Delete any entry in the app
- Turn off anonymous analytics in Settings, at any time
- Turn off "Help improve Hurive" in Settings, at any time. It is off unless you switch it on
- Revoke Apple Health, microphone, or speech access in iOS Settings > Privacy & Security
- Delete the app to remove all locally stored Hurive data
- Email support@hurive.app for any request
Children
Hurive is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their data.
Security
On-device data is protected by iOS encryption. Network requests use HTTPS. The AI runs on your device, so there are no AI provider keys and no AI requests to secure in the first place.
Changes
We will update this page when our data practices change, and update the date above.
